Amazon Fulfilment Pallet Deliveries

We all know that when it comes to cost-effectiveness, sending a pallet to Amazon is much cheaper than parcels. In other words, your return on investment will increase if your goods are being sent on a pallet to the Amazon Fulfilment Centre.

However, if you want to send a pallet to Amazon, you must be aware of the fact that the pallet must respect some guidelines in order to be approved. Thus, in today’s article, we’ll tell you exactly what a pallet needs in order to be ready for Amazon.

Pallet Requirements

In order for your shipment to be available for an Amazon pallet delivery, you have to take into consideration the aspects below.

First of all, you must use wooden pallets, measuring 1 metre x 1.2 metres, and which have four-way access. It is not recommended that you use pallets made of particle board or cardboard.

  • Unit Shipping – if you are shipping units, the goods must be placed on GMA Standard B Grade pallets, or higher – these are characterized by 6 or 7 boards on top, a minimum of 4 boards on the bottom, stringers for increased support, and the aforementioned four-way entry.
  • Grocery Shipping – in case of grocery shipping, it must be placed on GMA 1A Grade pallets only – these are characterised by 7 boards on top, 5 boards on the bottom, stringers, four-way entry, and no block repairs to stringers.
  • Health & Personal Care and Beauty Products – when it comes to such goods, only GMA 1A and 1B Grade pallets can be used. In short, they must have 6 or 7 boards on top, minimum of 4 bottom boards, stringers and four-way entry. Keep in mind that only one of the stringers you use may have a plug or other type of repair.

Naturally, in order to avoid any damage, it is advised that you ship only on pallets that are in good condition. If you use a damaged/broken pallet, it may be rejected with the seller held responsible for the expenses.

Label Requirements

As you may also have to label your pallets, here is how to properly do it. First of all, the shipment labels must be placed on all the sides of the shipping pallet – also, they should be on the outside of the stretch wrap, if any.

For ease of access, the labels should be placed squarely and not angled. If the pallet contains only one ASIN, it is to be labelled as “Single ASIN Pallet”.

There are also certain scenarios in which you have to add extra labels. For example, if the pallet contains boxes that exceed 25kg, they are to be labelled as Team Lift and if they exceed 50kg, they have to be labelled as Mech Lift.

In order to make the shipment easier when it reaches the Amazon Palletline, you should consider adding a label that reads “Sold as Set” when you have sellable units that consist of multiple boxes that are intended to be sold as a single SKU.

Moreover, it is recommended that the units that belong to a set are wrapped together within the box so that they are not accidentally separated.
